Remember: act as you imagine your character would at all times, and their personality and backstory will shine through naturally without any work on your end.įinally, make sure that your physical description is CLEAR. Going up to someone and casually explaining to them your whole personality and backstory like some sort of robot trying desperately to be a human is NOT the way to do so. Putting your character into the gameAmazingly, people even manage to get this wrong, but luckily I'm here to steer you in the right direction. At this point, being meticulous with how detailed you are is not too necessary as long as you have all bases covered and in any given situation you have a rough idea of how your character would act. Make yourself a nice, semi-detailed, fleshed out character. While things like "Class" and "Abilities" will not be useful, sections involving traits, aspects of personality etc. The absolute easiest way to create a character is to google a DnD character sheet and basically just steal all the sections that make sense to use. ![]() (I should mention at this point that if you are very familiar with a character or experienced with RP, this may not apply as much.) If you prefer to use a word processor, then feel free, but make no mistake - having this information stored and easily accessible is vital to good RP, so don't be lazy! This means that they are absolutely perfect for creating the groundworks for a character. ![]() The basicsWhat I love about spreadsheets is that they are an easy way to store simple information in an easily customisable way.
