![]() ![]() the team starts with a lot of skills that are useful: block, dauntless, reception, Fend, Wrestle. they have a LOT of potential, just like elves, humans and even orcs. Well if you want the opinion of a newcomer on the forum, Bretonia are. I've looked into norses and I'm excited for them since they look like what this race should've been. I advise to use less blockers in favor or rerolls, apotecharies or even lineman.įor the team to be better they need to figure out what to do, they need either a big guy or a dedicated runner/thrower, because right now the team is caught in between being an elf and a dwarf. So in the end what you have is a team that doesn't stand out at anything and that fails to keep up with other teams that, if not from the start, quickly surpass anything they can do, so to properly balance and survive at high TV you need to get a solid start with your team and build from there, some recommend to start with 4 blockers and 4 blitzers, but not having an apotechary is basically death for brettonians as it may take you so much as 4 games to get one of your blitzers back. Then come the Blockers, which doesn't help the team in either being bashy or in handling the ball, honestly I think they are too expensive to use wrestle and having average agility and strength doesn't help the team at all. The main meat of team, the blitzers, tend to not work well together as they dont have enough AV to be bashy nor any ball handling skills outside of catch which makes no sense, since they dont have a proper thrower, how are they going to catch anything if most of the throws wont even be done properly. They have the best lineman out of any race, but they arent enough to support the team. They start off fantastic at low TV, probably only losing to dwarves because of all the players starting with block, but as they level and TV increases they just plummet, the blitzers steal all the SPP making it almost impossible to level the blockers and after 2/3 levels they quickly run out of useful skills. So after having played maybe 20 games in the open league and 10 in the munch cup, I must say brettonians have the possibility to be great, but some of the stuff in the team doesnt make sense. ![]() I've gone up against a few Bret teams that were difficult to play against, mainly because they'd wrestle good players down then constantly foul, as even 1 for 1 is a great trade when you're only losing linemen (usually still beat them, but it was disruptive play & worked well for them). ![]() you just generally don't want passing skills on more than 1 player.īut maybe I'm just not playing them the right way. If their blitzers could choose Str or agi skills as well, they'd be so much better. 4 players with catch but only agi 3 & no dodge, so are easily marked, 4 players with dauntless is amazing vs orcs/chaos/lizardmen, less so vs everyone else. In general they just seem to have so much bloat. Lots of wrestle/block does mean less rerolls initially wasted, but new rerolls are 140k, and with players dying left right and center. Not having sure hands/agi 4 means that you feel like their ballskillls are as terrible as chaos, and worse than humans. I guess like humans (I haven't really played humans much). Not sure if it's just bad luck, but not being able to effectively dodge out of trouble + AV7/8 means they get into trouble easily. They seem "ok" at low TV, but the amount of injuries is horrendous. I've been playing a Brets team in a league, mainly because some players whom I've played (which were playing Brets), kept complaining about how terrible they were, while others rated them as the only 3rd tier team currently available, and I wanted to see for myself.
